Monday’s Theme: Consumption and Green Purchasing

11-2pm: Upper Sproul; the Campus Recycling and Refuse Services table will feature information on reducing your rate of consumption and how to purchase more green.
Use a reusable mug instead of a paper cup at cafes! Pick up a free mug when you visit during our tabling hours today.

7:00pm: Watch the esteemed film, Affluenza, at location 220 Wheeler. It’s guaranteed to make you wet you pants thinking about how many shoes you own and why we’re so driven to consume.

Tuesday’s Theme: Water

11-2pm: Upper Sproul; yes, water is both fascinating and mighty. Visit today and learn more about the how to reduce your usage of said water, and what it means to the environment.

5-8pm: Eat the World, Save the Earth (ETWSTE) at Unit 3 Café and Foothill DCs. Find out how much food diners waste on our waste-o-meter and receive a treat for eating everything on your plate. Sponsored by Cal Dining.

Wednesday’s Theme: Transportation

11-2pm: Upper Sproul; Need information about renting cars from the city of Berkeley? How about bike or biodesiel information? Stop by today and get a chance to chat about the various ways to travel around Berkeley and the Bay Area.

5:30-8pm (Clark Kerr DC)
Round two of the waste-o-meter at different DCs. Treats are also offered for those that dare dream and eat all the food that they put on their plates.

Thursday’s Theme: Reuse and Recycling

11-2pm: Upper Sproul; Thor’s day is themed for Reuse and Recycling. Come by for a chance to make your own notebook composed or reused materials!

11-2pm Clean up Strawberry Creek by meeting at Sather Gate. Participants get a free ceramic Protect Strawberry Creek Mug for helping out!

7:15pm: 220 Wheeler; Watch the fascinating biopic Blue Vinyl as it explorers the dark and seedy world responsible for one of the most poisonous plastics created.  

Friday’s Theme: Energy

11-2pm: Upper Sproul; Tabling with Green Campus
Come learn about easy ways you can save energy in your daily life.  Find out about upcoming energy related events on campus.  See a mini solar cell in action and check out a CFL tree!

11-3pm Eco Fair! Gather info about other environmental groups on campus. Location: Lower Sproul. (Download Flyer)

3:30-5pm Eco Welcome Meeting! ECo first meeting to welcome new members. Location: 260 Mulford Hall. (Download Flyer)

3-4pm; Paper Making at Unit 2! (In the Courtyard between all buildings)
We'll be recycling used paper, and creating wonderful sheets of unique paper that can be used for almost any purpose! You can even bring your own FLAT items to place within your paper, such as rose petals, leaves, etc. The event will capitalize on our ability to re-use and save the planet's precious resources.

ALSO AT THE DCs:
Trade in your regular lightbulb in the DCs for a ENERGY STAR bulb!  Look below for the day, time, & location to trade or wait and visit your unit office next week between the hours of 8am-5pm. Sponsored by Housing & Dining and Green Campus.
