Group Leaders: Desirae Early and Brooke Owyang

Meeting Times: Mondays 5-6PM (110 Wheeler Hall)

Goals:

• Work towards conserving energy that is used to create electricity, heating, or transportation.
• Specifically address problems that UC Berkeley has with their energy usage.
• Involve students in renewable energy efforts (i.e. Bio-diesel, Solar panel project, Green fund)

Potential Projects/Events:·

• Create standard template for doing energy audits on campus buildings
• Complete audits of campus buildings
• Educate building staff on the importance of energy conservation
• Assess current transportation problems and work towards fixing these problems
• Educate students and staff on importance of sustainable transportation through promotional events
• Work on increasing usage of alternative energy sources
• Anything else that ties into energy (which is quite a bit) that people would be interested in doing!!!!!

• Office of Environment, Health, and Safety
• CSSC (Chancellor's Advisory Committee on Sustainability)

Timeline for Spring 2005:

• Weeks 1-2: Choose which projects to focus on, set meeting times, and allocate duties.
• Weeks 2-3: Have a detailed plan and begin working on projects.
• Weeks 3-10: Continue to work on projects
• Week 11: Write up accomplishments and celebrate!
